I'm a software engineer who is originally from Los Angeles but now reside in San Francisco. I love to hit the beach when the weather permits and enjoy a good basketball game with friends. My favorite foods are tacos, banh mi, and Korean bbq. When given free time I code and listen to Ted Talks.
I developed and deployed four amazing, functional, and fullstack applications during my 12-week tenure engaging with a plethora of technologies, languages, and frameworks. I worked with the UX/UI team on design principles, layouts, wireframes, mockups, and applied them to the front-end of my apps. I completed server and database routing and made sure data was communicated and stored efficiently. It was intense but me and my team had fun building and challenging each other.
After graduating from this coding academy, I was fortunate enough to work here as a TA/student mentor for the new coders. Passing your knowledge for the betterment of others is my main priority here and learning while teaching is my goal because I believe as a coder, everyday is an opportunity to learn new stuff. Technologies I covered are: HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, javaScript, JSON, AJAX, bootstrap, web-responsive design, angularJS, and react.js.
At Codify Academy I dove head-first in html, css, and javascript programming. I learned what it takes to be a front-end developer and the best-practices of client-side development. I engaged with modern front-end frameworks like AngularJS and React to build component based real-time applications.
Taught life sciences and Algebra to middle school students.
I'm a front end web developer who loves learning and embracing new challenges. As a prior teacher with summers off, I spent my summers picking up new languages, technologies, and learned the guitar. Last summer I picked up programming through a web development course online and the rest is history. I took that summer learning mentality and decided to make it full time so I invested my time and energy on learning web development full time. I'm like a chameleon blending learning strategies and collaboration skills from my teaching experience into my programming experience to allow higher rates of growth and communication as a developer. Let me develop for your team!
P.S. I also love basketball, hiking, eating delicious food, and traveling around the globe
A fullstack app built with React on the frontend and Node on the server side. This application allows the user to sign up and login to create a user profile of travel stories with pictures, dates, and comments. In later versions, the stories can be shared with other users in our network. I built the frontend with jumbotron and made the site very user friendly. I also helped the backend and server routes and made sure the database was getting and saving data successfully.
Technologies used include: REACT.JS JavaScript, JSX, jQuery, AJAX, Bootstrap, Node.js and MongoDB Express, Mongoose, and Firebase.
A Ruby on Rails application that allows the user to create unique movie lists that can be shared between user connections and friends. I implemented the server-side routing and made sure the database was receiving calls from proper routes with information, and storing the data into our postgreSQL database correctly. I built the OAUTH and customized via Devise to allow users to authenticate with their Google accounts on sign-in.
Technologies used include: Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, Devise gem, SASS, jQuery-rails, and Bootstrap.
A crowd-sourced MEN Stack application I built that allows users to create a profile of sneakers to add to a shoe list like a song playlist. Users can then store data in our fully built API for sneaker drop dates, purchase location, prices, and even leave comments on shoes. I collaborated with the UX/UI team on design and user interface elements on the front-end. I helped make the proper AJAX calls to the server and made sure the database was saving user input data that could later be called on the frontend.
Technologies used include: MongoDB, Express, Node.js, jQuery, Javascript, Bootstrap, AJAX, JSON.
A Ruby on Rails application that allows the local SF diner to find delicious food truck eateries and view their location, menu, hours, and description. I created the nest routes in this Ruby on Rails app and implemented the Google API via gems 'geocoder' and 'gmaps4rails' that would populate owners' truck info as an infowindow popup on the map with marker location. I designed the minimalist front-end with a fun food truck gif and clean landing page so the 'call to action' would be clear to the food diner.
Technologies used include: Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, Google Maps API, Devise/Geocoder/Gmaps4rails gems, SASS, and Bootstrap.
